When do you invent?
Today I wandered around my neighbourhood and thought about when people get the opportunity or urge to create something, solve a problem, do something better. Does it normally happen on the weekend? In the home? Out with friends? When hiking a mountain?
Sometimes my weekends are the best inventing times. Even when cleaning up I found a way to turn old receipts (100’s actually thanks to living with a man that empties pockets all over the house) into newly created paper mache bowls. Why stick them in the recycle bin when you can actually create something?
We must all have our inventing time. It’s true – the norm is to trot along inventing your future, but what about taking that a step further. Beyond looking after yourself, your livelihood, and health – what other problems do you like to solve.
Really the first step to inventing is by getting frustrated enough about a problem and taking action to find a better solution…if it doesn’t exist (of course!).
Inventing can take place anywhere, anytime, and it can all come together when you least expect it. So go on and think about WHEN you invent and WHY. Why shouldn’t we invent EVERYDAY!
