Let’s talk energy for a moment. Yes – it’s clear. The energy sector is being pushed to transform to a transparent, smart, and data-driven consumer controlled industry.
What is impressive is how connectivity is leap-frogging ways we collect data. Now an Internet of Energy Things (IoET) has been created to piggyback off of the original Internet of things. The best part is that data collection is now being harnessed without wifi or 3G.
So the energy of the crowd is co-creating better ways to have a relationship with energy consumption and also discover other technologies that could help save money and are a bit cleaner.
Check out the Things Network. Super cool project which provides an open platform for devices, sensors, switches (you name it) to talk about energy, directly.
So one day your core body temperature could be tracked by a sensor which communicates directly with your thermostat to automatically adjust the temperature in the room you are in, keeping you nice and comfortable, and before you go to sleep an automatic upload to your apple watch flashes how much you have saved on your bill because of the personal thermostat regulation.
Now the Things Network is the tech enabler that helps you discover all of this.
IoET = total spark in my book!
