Tis the season to be a bit more creative with your gifts. While everyone is hoarding the high streets, I have gone back to my natural roots and found inspiration in beauty products, specifically body scrubs. It’s a bit different, but I am a big advocate of body scrubs and thought that they should be easy to make and can do wonders for your skin. Exfoliating is almost of fact of life. By doing so you can get rid of residues and impurities, dead skin cells and dirt underneath clogged poars. Of course, you can feel smoother, sleeker and give your skin a new glow instantaneously.
Hence the reason, I got excited and decided to hit the supermarket and local DIY store to find some nice jars for holiday gifts. Basic ingredients for a nice scrub include granulated sugar, oatmeal, sweet almond or grapeseed oil, and an essential oil to help provide a scent of your liking.

Body Scrub Preparation
My friend Shonali joined me to everything from a simple sugar and spice scrub:
* 1/2 cup granulated sugar
* 1/2 cup firmly packed dark brown sugar
* 1/2 cup sweet almond oil
* 2 tsp pure vanilla extract
* 1 Tbsp ground oatmeal
* 1 tsp nutmeg
Instructions
Combine all ingredients and store in an airtight jar for further use. Scrub face with mixture 2-3 minutes, rinse, and pat dry.

Natural Body Scrub Creation
To Mocha Spice Scrub:
* 1 cup sugar
* 1 tablespoon ground coffee
* 1 tablespoon cocoa powder
* 1 teaspoon cinnamon
* Generous pinch nutmeg
* Generous pinch ginger
* 1/4 to 1/2 cup almond oil (or other light oil, such as grapeseed or jojoba)
Preparation:
In a medium bowl, whisk together the sugar, coffee, cocoa, cinnamon, nutmeg, and ginger.
Whisk in 1/4 cup oil until it is completely combined with the sugar mixture. Stir in the remaining oil by the tablespoonful until desired consistency is achieved. Transfer scrub to an airtight, nonreactive container with a wide mouth (for example, a hermetic glass jar with a clamp lid).
Now onto scrubbing…
